What happened at Leamington Peace Festival

tent resizedLeamington Peace Festival (13-14 June) was a glorious sunny weekend and Leamington Churches were out in force.  St Mary's Church had a tent of healing and blessing, with free drinks, colouring and prayer.  Churches Together had a tent with prayer, particularly prayer for healing.  The team prayed for people with physical injuries and people who wanted to hear from God, and saw them touched in profound ways.

Face painting resizedAlso in the Churches Together tent was a 'peace promises' activity, where people received a small card with Bible verses on them:

The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

Zephaniah 3:17

Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4: 6-9

Balloons resizedMany people wrote prayers or promises for peace and hung them on a prayer tree.  Each will be prayed for this week in churches across the town.

There was also face painting, free drinks and ice pops and balloons.
