About HOPE

Jesus - the gift of Hope

Two thousand years after he walked the earth, Jesus of Nazareth remains one of those most talked-about and influential people who has ever lived.  At Christmas, we celebrate Jesus coming to earth for the very first time; God's gift of hope to us.

Jesus' coming to earth is as important today as it was 2000 years ago.  It shows us a God who is so interested in us personally, that he came to earth to walk and talk among us, experiencing joy and sadness just like we do.  Jesus showed us the nature of God, who is without sin and full of love.  Jesus loved everyone and most ordinary people loved him back.  His coming to earth means that we can have a loving relationship with the God who created us.

Jesus was put to death, but was raised from the dead and his power is at work in the world as much today as it ever was.  Sadly, a lot of people pass by without taking a second look.  To know Jesus means entering into a life-giving relationship with God, a journey which will ultimately bring peace, joy and healing.  Find out more about this 'gift of hope' by visiting your local church this Christmas.
